Why is a dying declaration an exception to the hearsay rule?

a. Because a dying declaration is a statement against interest and believed to be the truth.

    I believe C is the correct answer. A dying declaration is a statement given by a victim when he/she truly believes that he/she will die. However, a dying declaration can only be used if the victim does die from the injuries given to him/her during the crime that occurred.
