    However this sentence is taken out of context so I'll try to explain my rational. Familiar observation (a look see or quick scan) of universal (all) compensation (probably pay check amounts) might suggest the fear that--so summary a stop - - (so abruptly a stop) of a bad humor (cranky mood) was more jeopardous (would be worse) than if the crankiness continued - - or I'll make it apply to me

    A look at pay rate schedules might make (me) fear that a sudden end to (my) bad mood might be worse (or put me in more jeopardy) than if I continued with my bad mood.

    And while this translation may not be right in context, it sounds like an odd thing to say.
