    Tropical rainforests occupy only 2% of the earth’s surface but it contains 50% of plants and animals on Earth. The reasons why plants and animals are abundant in this place are:

    1) Climate - Plants and animals get a lot of sunlight responsible for photosynthesis. Energy converted is stored by plants and then later consumed by animals.

    2) Canopy structure - offers sources of food and shelter to plants and animals
