Messenger RNA, or mRNA, molecules are produced by the process of transcription from DNA molecules. During this process, complementary base pairing takes place. The bases present in the DNA molecule are:

Adenine, Thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. The complementary bases on mRNA molecules are:

Adenine (A) in DNA binds to Uracil (U) in mRNA

Thymine (T) in DNA binds to Adenine (A) in mRNA

Cytosine (C) in DNA binds to Guanine (G) in mRNA

Guanine in (G) DNA binds to Cytosine (C) in mRNA
