Sam and Louise were in a house fire and only woke up when the firemen rushed in to see if anyone was

in the house. They did not have a working fire alarm. Why did they not wake up when the smoke of the

fire began to fill the house? Think of responses to RAS.

    This is because the smoke takes the same path as the oxygen, towards the lung. Once there, the defense cells try to fight the smoke, the problem is that the lung cells are attacked and the smoke toxins are easier to act and cause different damages in the body. The main damage is that the body can no longer allow oxygen to enter, leaving the organs, including the brain, without the presence of this nutrient.
