    To electromagnetic radiation can be harmful depending on the frequency of radiation, which can range from microwaves that raise tissue temperatures, infrared radiation that produces heat and burns, x-rays can cause problems such as mutations associated with cancer and cell death, similar to ultraviolet radiation that can range from darkening the skin to promoting the appearance of cancer.

    Among the beneficial effects, voltages similar to those produced by the connective system have been developed, to improve the treatment of different musculoskeletal diseases, also some radiation show benefits to treat some types of cancer, they are also used for sterilization of medical instruments or places requiring to be free of bacteria, x-rays are used as diagnostic means for studying bone and related injuries, radiation in the form of laser allows surgical procedures.
