I believe that relative to the percent of time dominating the surface of earth Prokaryotes have the longest reign. Prokaryotes are unicellullar or single celled organisms that lack membrane bound nucleus, mitochondria or any other membrane bound organelles. They include all single-celled organisms, most of them bacteria.
