When the effects of both alleles are shown, there is said to be either codominance or incomplete dominance. Codominance is observed when both the dominant and recessive traits are present in the phenotype (noticeable characteristics) of the organism. On the other hand, incomplete dominance is seen when an intermediate trait is expressed in the phenotype of the organism. In both cases, the effects of both alleles can be observed.
