    It is important that the nurse discusses lifestyle techniques and modifications to prevent thromboembolism from occuring. PV causes the blood to thicken which in turn could cause severe clots in the woman's blood. With that being said thromboembolism could occur and clots could travel to a number of major organs in the body. So the patient should be informed how to keep that risk low.
