Gabriella weighs 450 N. She climbs a flight of stairs to a height of 3 m. It takes her 5 seconds. If she were to climb the flight of stairs again in the same amount of time, but this time while carrying two heavy books, how does the amount of work she does change from the first to the second trip up the stairs?     A. The work increases.

    Work=Force*Distance

    in this case, the force is the weight since we are moving in an upward direction.

    Weight=Mass*Acceleration Due to Gravity

    Since Gabriella is carrying a greater mass upward (herself and the two heavy books), her force upward is greater in the second case. Thus, since the distance is the same, the work done by Gabriella is also greater.
