A throat culture grows normal oropharyngeal microbiota. The coagulase test for the organism is positive. What is the genus and species of the organism?

    Oropharyngeal microbiota:

    Microbiota are communities of microorganisms which may be symbiotic, commensal and pathogenic The oropharyngeal microbiota contains many microorganisms as it is known to be the major reservoir of infection.

    Coagulase test:

    This test is the laboratory procedure used for detection of Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus aureus produces coagulase enzyme which catalyses the conversion of soluble fibrinogen in plasma to insoluble fibrin.
