Chicken pox is a virus that causes an itchy rash but typically does not have any major or lasting effects on an infected person. Before 1995, chicken pox parties were popular. In a chicken pox party, healthy children were brought around children who were sick with chicken pox so that they would be exposed to the virus and their immune system would learn to fight it. A vaccine for chicken pox was developed in 1995, and chicken pox parties are now rare. What best describes how vaccines have advanced science?

a) Vaccines are more effective on ethnicities that are highly susceptible to a disease.

b) Vaccines can determine which genes can cause disease.

c) Vaccines can minimize lifestyle choices that allow for greater exposure to a disease.

d) Vaccines allow for building immunity without harmful exposure because not all viruses are safe to be exposed to.

I would say the answer is D because just like in example, chicken pox is not always safe, and healthy kids in chicken pox party can also get infected and become very sick instead of just getting exposed to them. Vaccine however just basically gave us immunity to the disease without the getting sick step.
