    Explanation:

    Septicemia is a serious bloodstream infection also known as blood poisoning.

    It occurs when a bacterial infection elsewhere in the body such as lungs, skin enters into the blood stream. This is dangerous because bacteria and their toxins can be carried through the blood stream to our body.

    The symptoms of the septicemia usually start very quickly. The common initial symptoms are fever, chills, fast breathing and rapid heart rate. Most severe symptoms include nausea or vomiting, reduced urine volume, inadequate blood flow, confusion and shock. The most common infections which lead to septicemia are urinary tract infection, kidney infections and infections in the abdominal area.

    Complications of septicemia are Septic shock, Acute respiratory distress and disseminated intravascular coagulation.
