Researchers have been trying to gauge the impact of the 'graying of America.' They report that currently, 5% of the U. S. population is over the age of 75, and it is expected that in ten years, 15% of the U. S. population will be over the age of 75.

1) Do you expect that this shift in age composition will result in shifts in mortality rates why or why not?

2) how will you evaluate time trends in mortality rates? Be specific and provide examples?

Answer:1. There will be a shift in mortality rates due to the expected rise of age distribution. Thus more deaths are likely to occur.

    2. Time trends is the variation in the time. example a time trends between 2 - 10 years. Along the years, many factors like birth control policy, natural disasters, wars, etc could alter the mortality rates.
