If a local anesthetic blocks neural transmission what hormones would be affected and in what direction (up or down) if the anesthetic is applied to the infundibula stalk below the hypothalamus. What would be the short-term acute effects on the body?

    The correct answer for the question that is being presented above is this one: "local anesthetic do not affect hormones. They block sodium channels in sensory, motor and sympathetic neurons and stop transmission along those nerves. They cause numbness, motor paralysis and sympathectomy. They do not affect hormones. Seriously. I'm not kidding. So, NO hormones, and neither up nor down because they are not affected."
