The food handler should check the appearance of the chili, such as the appearance and the smell. If the appearance look like it's out of the ordinary and the smell is not the smell it used to have, it is best to dispose of the food as this will indicate that the food has been spoiled. But if it still looks the same and there are no changes with the smell, it is best to heat the food in the right temperature to kill unwanted bacteria and to at least preserve the food.
