To withstand the pressure of the blood coming out from the heart, arteries need thick walls. Because of the lower pressure, vein walls are thinner.

To withstand the pressure of blood coming out from the heart arteries need thick walls to accommodate the increased blood pressure of the blood that flows through them Due to low pressure vein walls are thinner.
