If the number of phytoplankton decreases, what happens to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

    It would substantially increase as they are responsible for 1/3 of the earths Oxygen and without them "eating" up the CO2 there would be an increase of it in our Atmosphere and a decrease in Oxygen
