Which movement results after the contraction of the serratus anterior muscle?

    The resulting movement is scapular protraction and rotation. The scapula is moved along the chest wall. The muscles involved in this process are the serratus anterior, which is the prime mover. Pectoralis minor and major, the latter acting through the humerus, may assist (act as synergists).
