    The nurse should consult with the patient's dietitian in order to develop a plan of action to address the weight loss. Aspiration precautions mean that the patient is at risk of choking or gagging, or swallowing problems, so with that in mind, the nurse should not attempt to address the problem alone, and the situation should be handled with care.
