What allows non-woody plants, such as dandelion, to stand upright?

    Non-woody plants have Parenchyma cells, which make up the bulk of the stem. They are thin and walled with large vacuolesa. In leaves and stems of seedlings and small plants it is the water content of these cells that holds the plant erect. I hope my answer is the one you’ve been looking for!
