    The division of the nervous system that are responsible for activities that are not under conscious control (involuntary) is called autonomic nervous system. Examples of involuntary action are digestion and breathing. This part of the nervous system also control the involuntary activities of the intestines, glands, heart, respiration, metabolism, blood-pressure regulation, etc.
