Decontamination is a process of cleaning the materials to an extent to remove the contaminants from them like microorganism, chemicals, dust, dirt and radioactive substances.

The decontamination of the given material can be done for each of the following:

    1) Decontamination of pillow - Sterilizer called as UVC sterilizer can be used which uses the UV light to detect and destroy the germs of bubonic plaque that is transmitted by the bite of the flea. After sterilization vaccuming of the pillow can be done to remove the dead germs.

    2) Used disposable syringes - It should be placed in a sharp heavy duty plastic container like detergent or bleach bottle. The bottle must be puncture resistant.
