    Explanation: Xeropthalmia also known as dried eyes is condition caused by deficiency of vitamin A. it affects the ability to produce tears. this is characterised by changes in the cornea that can eventually lead to corneal ulcers, scarring and blindness.

    Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin. Retinol and retinal are types of vitamin A compounds. retinol is necessary for the formation of keratin and a healthy skin.

    Vitamin A functions to provide healthy eyes, skin, and bones.

    It's natural sources are liver, eggs dark green vegetables, cheese etc.

    Vitamin A deficiency causes night blindness. it can also lead to changes in the conjunctiva called Bitot's spots
