    It is also referred to the Anatomical dead space. This is the total volume of the conducting airways from the nose or mouth down to the level of the terminal bronchioles, normally about 150 ml in humans on an average. It fills with inspired air at the end of each inspiration, however this air is exhaled without any exchange.
