When pregnant and expecting mother should gain between 15 and 25 pounds of weight, which is considered normal and healthy. Most expecting mothers only gain about 2.5 pounds during the first trimester, but see weight gain as much as 1 pound per week throughout the remaining portion of the pregnancy, which is all considered normal.
