Why would cactus needles be an advantageous adaptation

    Because if a cactus didn't have needles a lot of animals wouldn't get poked and they'd eat it

    Animals would be able to eat the cactus, but as they do have needles it allows them to get rid of prey and the cactus stores water which is good for ppl that are stuck in the desert
