Describe how albuterol provides relief to asthma patients. refer to relevant respiratory anatomy as well as the changes that occur in the airways of an asthmatic.

    Albuterol is in a class of compounds referred to as bronchodilators. During an asthma attack, the muscles of the patient's airway contract and the patient is unable to breathe. Bronchodilators relax these muscles and open up the patient's airway, allowing them to breathe.
