Changing genetic variation can lead to selection of certain traits to be favored by the environment.

    Explanation:

Genetic variations can be described as the changes in the DNA segments or genes which arise in organisms of the same species. The environment in which a species lives favors organisms with certain traits. Through natural selection, the organisms which are better adapted to live in an environment are able to live and pass on their characteristics to their offsprings. Hence, these organisms carrying the favorable trait are favored by the environment.
