How does carbon enter the biotic part of the ecosystem, namely plants from the atmosphere?

    Carbon enters the biotic part of the ecosystem through the process ofphotosynthesis, in which carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and water react toproduce glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen.

    Trees take in that carbon the same way we take in oxygen. When a tree let's out it's used carbon, it comes out as oxygen for us to use. This is called Photosynthesis.
