In many countries fishing is strictly regulated: method, limits, seasons, fishing grounds, and size are all legally defined. Such conservation methods came about for many reasons. Which of these is NOT one of those reasons? A) The world's oceans have been overfished. B) Governments restrict fishing so they can make more money. C) Other methods such as blast fishing damage important underwater habitats. D) Without restrictions on size or sex, too many females or young could be eliminated.

    The correct answer is - B) Governments restrict fishing so they can make more money.

    The regulations, or restrictions about the fishing have nothing to do with the income of the governments, because they are actually getting less money with the implantation of the restrictions.

    The fishing industry, as any other, pays taxes to the governments, so the more fish is caught, the more income in the budget of the government, but if the governments were led by that motive, than big portion of the fish species would have been extinct by now.

    Fortunately, most of the governments had seen that the over-fishing can have a terrible effect on the long term, so they started to implement regulations that will be protecting the marine animals.
