    The stimulus for reflex flicking movements are the vertical movements. A stimulus is a signal that causes an animal to react in some way. Some stimulus may come from outside of the animals's body while others like thirst, come from inside the animal's body. The reaction of the animal towards a stimulus is called the response. A reflex is a quick involuntary action.
