Mr. Smith and his wife recently had a baby. Mrs. Smith has been upset since she first saw her new baby's short eyelashes. She claims that the hospital goofed and mixed up her baby with someone else's baby. Having short eyelashes is a recessive trait and Mr. Smith is homozygous dominant for long eyelashes, while his wife is heterozygous. Determine if the baby could be their child. A) Create a punnett square using Mr. and Mrs. Smith's genotypes and calculate the probability of having a child who is homozygous recessive. B) Using information from the punnett square, determine if the baby belongs to the Smiths. In paragraph form, justify your response by providing supporting evidence and reasoning.
