What is algae and what benefits does it provide in the ocean food web?

    Algae is a type of underwater plant that grows on rocks or hard clumps of sand. The benefits it gives to the ocean food web is that sea turtles, slugs, and some fish eat it, which keep their population up and then they become food for animals that eat them.
