    The statement that best describes an independent variable is B. the variable you can change in an investigation. There can be only one independent variable during an experiment, because if you change more things, you won't know which variable it is that brought about the change. So, there is one variable that you change that doesn't depend on anything else and that you can alter in order to get the results you want.
