    (b). Gradualism.

    They can be refered as Clastic sedimentary rocks, they also exist as

    breccia, conglomerate, sandstone,

    siltstone, and shale are formed from mechanical weathering debris.

    (b). Similar to other Sierra Nevada tributaries, the Merced River transitions from steeper, gravel bedded

    reaches affected by gold dredging and aggregate mining, to areas where various activities have

    encroached on the stream channel, and then to a lower gradient sand bedded reach.

    The sediments are transfered gradually from the stream directly to the main river.
