Weathering, cooling, melting, erosion, temperature, pressure, compaction, cementation are the factors that affect the formation and breakdown of rocks. There are mainly three types of rocks sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. A rock can transform into another by passing through crystallization, metamorphism, erosion and sedimentation which creates the rock cycle.
