Which of the following is a characteristic of scientific inquiry as described by Goodstein's evolved theory of science? Science is a way of thinking in which ideas do battle with other ideas in order to move ever closer to truth. Scientists must have strong ethical principles and be committed to treating those who participate in research investigations with respect and dignity. Scientists often tend to become authorities when they express their ideas and report their observations to other scientists and the public. Science is a way of thinking in which ideas do battle with other ideas in order to move ever closer to truth.

    Explanation:

Goodstein's Evolved Theory of Science and its concepts can be described in this way

    Four characteristics of scientific inquiry

    1. Data takes a basic role in observation, theories, data methods. Goodstein's put it this way "show me don't tell me"

    2. Scientists do not stand or walk alone, findings are recorded and Reported. This prompts Replication by Other scientists to verify the results.

    3. Science is Adversarial, Ideas Do Battle with Other Ideas, Good Ideas are Testable, Testable Hypotheses, Clear operationally defined terms,✔✔✔

Falsifiability: Scientific theory or inference should have the ability of being worked on to prove it as false

    4. Scientific Evidence is Peer Reviewed

Peer Review: this is the steps in evaluation of the experimental findings before it is published in a journal. This will seek to make sure that flawed or falsified findings are not publisbed in scientific literature. It will give an unbiased and objective report of the experimental findings
