In order Biological molecules are synthesized through dehydration reactions.

a. Dehydration reactions remove two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, the equivalent of a water molecule.

b. These reactions then form a bond between monomers to create molecules called polymers.

c. Biological molecules can be broken down by hydrolysis reactions, where a molecule of water breaks the bond between the monomers
