    Any living thing can be defined as the organism that has life. A chimpanzee and a pine tree have very little in common but we can say they are living things as they are made up of one or more cells.

    They both perform all the processes that is responsible for living like respiration, reproduction et cetera.

    They are made of cells and perform the vital processes for living.
