While there is only one scientific method, there is a lot of flexibility in how it can be used. There are numerous paths to discovering the answers, researchers can choose many different routes and that all depends on the field that is being studied. It can also be dependent on weather or not experimentation is possible, affordable and if it is even ethical.

Scientific method serves as a guide to scientists all over the world to direct them to perform their experiment in a standard way that does not allow bias. The particular activity that will be carried out at each steps of the method depends on the type of experiment that a scientist is conducting.
