The consistent finding by a nurse when a baby born is at 39 weeks gestation is when the plantar creases covering the entire sole of foot. Head and neck are 25% of body’s surface. Hence, at 39 weeks the baby is fully developed and anywhere from 17-23 inches long and weight to 6-10 pounds.
