They mostly contains of slurry of pyroclastic substance, stone rubbles and water and it will flow down from a volcano. They can flow at about 10 meters per second and at depth of 140 meters. It may or may not be involve the effects of volcanic activity as long as the substances that contains lahars exist such as deposits of volcanic ash.
