New cells arise from both mitosis and meiosis. Describe the outcomes of each, in terms of the number of daughter cells, and the number of chromosomes in the daughter cells.

    In mitosis, two new daughter cells immerge with an identical number of chromosomes as the father cells whereas with meiosis, there are four daughter cells with half the number of chromosomes as the father cells.
