The genetic traits inherited by a child come from the parents and from past generations in relation to the parents. During sexual reproduction, 23 chromosomes are inherited from the father and 23 chromosomes are inherited from the mother, totaling 46 chromosomes that will give different characteristics to the child. Among these characteristics inherited by genes, there are dominant genes that are more likely to be expressed and recessives that are less likely. Therefore, as children have always inherited different characteristics from their parents, the likelihood among different children of being identical is very low making it unlikely to happen.
