The main difference between eukaryotes and prokaryotes is the presence/absence of a nucleus and other organelles. Prokaryotes do not have nucleus or organelles. Their genetic material is circular and in the cytoplasm. On the other hand, eukaryotes have genetic material packed inside the nucleus. They also have other organelles necessary for a great specter of functions.
