    Explanation:

    There is no use of adding the eluent with no solubility for the target compound. In this situation, spinach pigments will stay as it is on the silica gel and eluent will be free of any of these pigments. So, nothing will happen. Instead, if the purpose of doing this experiment was to extract spinach pigments, an alternative eluent with appropriate solubility for spinach pigments should be used.
