    Albertson's is a large retail chain but it doesn't cover the whole country, so why should it spend more money than needed.

    For example, most national TV broadcasters have some type of regional programming, so if Albertson's wants to have an ad on NBC, its ad will only be aired by the regional NBC channels. NBC has 42 different regional TV stations that air NBC's prime time shows, and regional news, information and entertainment shows.

    When someone advertises on Google they can also choose to advertise only on specific regions.
