For convenience, pricing objectives can be divided into three categories, which are profit oriented, sales oriented, and status quo. Profit oriented pricing objective follows the goals of maximizing profits and having a set target return. The sales oriented section focuses on the unit or dollar growth in sales and how the growth in the market relates. The status quo oriented objective focuses on how they are meeting their goals against competition and nonprime competition.
