    In the above mentioned scenario Kelsie is using the one of porter's competitive strategies known as Industry-wide product differentiation even though there is still a risk of losing customers for these strategies. This product differentiation strategy maintains a creative skilled development team to increase the production and a good reputation for the quality.

    The fact that Kelsie doesn't care who she works for, or what systems she develops and just wants to be the best means that she is embracing i ndustry-wide product differentiation. There are three Porter's Generic Competitive Strategies: cost leadership, differentiation and focus. Kelsie feels unique and that makes the differentiation.
